Ever walk out of a meeting and forget half of what was said? Omi is an AI wearable that aims to capture conversations and turn them into notes, summaries and action items. Here is a clear look at what it does and what to consider. 👇

📱 What is Omi?
Omi, from Based Hardware, is a small wearable device that works with a companion app. It is designed to record and transcribe what you say and hear, then use AI to organise it into summaries and to-dos.

✨ What you can do with it

• Capture meetings, calls and conversations and get an AI summary
• Pull out action items and reminders
• Search your past conversations for something you said or heard
• Use apps and integrations built by the Omi community

(Check the official site for the current feature list, supported devices and subscription terms, since these change.)

🔒 Privacy and consent: read this first
A device that records conversations comes with real responsibilities. Laws on recording differ by country and state, and some places require everyone’s consent. Tell people when you are recording, avoid sensitive settings, and review the company’s privacy policy to see how data is stored and used. Any security or compliance claims should be checked on the company’s own pages.

✔️ Pros

• Hands-free capture, so you can focus on the conversation
• AI summaries and action items can save time after meetings
• Open-source approach and an app ecosystem you can extend
• Searchable history of what you have discussed

✖️ Cons

• Recording raises privacy and legal considerations, including consent
• AI transcripts and summaries can contain mistakes, so double-check important details
• Needs a phone and a good connection for the best results
• Some features may depend on apps or subscription plans, so check the terms

💬 Final Verdict
Omi is an interesting option if you spend a lot of time in meetings or conversations and want help remembering the details. Use it responsibly, get consent where required, and check the privacy policy and current features before you buy.
