A good direct drive wheel can still feel wrong if the settings are off. MOZA’s Pit House software lets you shape how the wheel feels, and the wheel you put on the base matters too. This guide looks at the GS V2P wheel, as tested by PC Games Hardware with the R12 base, and the starting points MOZA suggests in its own force feedback guide.
🏎️ The wheel: GS V2P
PC Games Hardware rated the build, mounting and ergonomics as very good. The 300 mm wheel has an aluminium frame, a 5 mm carbon-fibre rim and faceplate, and perforated synthetic leather grips. It has two magnetic shift paddles with Hall sensors, two analog clutch paddles, 10 illuminated buttons, 5 rotary switches, 2 rotary knobs, 2 analog thumbsticks and a 10-LED shift light. The reviewer noted it has no display, and the quick-release lock works only with MOZA wheels.
⚙️ Pit House: start with presets, then tweak
MOZA’s own guide offers presets for GT, Formula 1, Rally, Drift and Trucks, and says the GT and F1 presets are well tuned out of the box. A sensible order is: pick a preset, adjust the Basic settings, and only then touch the Advanced tab.
🎚️ The few settings that matter first
From MOZA’s guide (treat the numbers as starting points, not rules):
- Game FFB intensity: scales overall force. The guide suggests 100% for R3/R5/R9 bases and 70 to 90% for R16/R21 for comfort. Lowering it keeps detail while reducing strength.
- Maximum steering angle: 360° for Formula-style cars, 540° for GT, and 900° for road cars, rally and drift.
- Road sensitivity (0 to 10): higher for F1 and GT, lower for rally and drift to avoid information overload.
- Advanced settings (natural inertia, wheel friction, speed-dependent damping, effect equalizer) are aimed at experienced sim racers, so change one thing at a time.
🛡️ A safety note: direct drive wheels are strong. Keep fingers and loose items clear, secure the mount well, and turn off or power down the wheel before changing hardware.
✔️ Pros
- Strong torque for the money (R12 is 12 Nm), per PC Games Hardware
- Very good build and materials on the GS V2P: carbon-fibre rim, magnetic paddles, many controls
- Pit House offers presets and deep tuning options
- Quick-release mounting and a comfortable grip
✖️ Cons
- The GS V2P has no display
- The quick-release lock works only with MOZA wheels
- Advanced FFB settings take time to learn
- A powerful base needs a sturdy desk or rig mount
💬 Final Verdict
If you are building around MOZA, the GS V2P is a well-reviewed wheel, and Pit House presets make it easy to start. Begin with a preset and change one setting at a time. Check compatibility of the wheel with your base and platform on MOZA’s site before you buy.
