Robot lawn mowers used to mean burying a perimeter wire around your yard. Eufy’s E15 skips that: it maps your lawn with cameras and AI, so setup is closer to plugging in a robot vacuum than a weekend of digging. Here is what Eufy’s pages and an independent review say about it. At the time I checked, Eufy Australia’s page was also running a promotion giving a free Robot Vacuum C10 with the E15, so check whether it is still on.
📷 Vision-based mapping, no wire
Eufy says the E15 uses pure-vision navigation with cameras and AI, with no boundary wire or RTK base station needed, and covers lawns up to 800 m². Basic Tutorials found setup very quick: place the charging station, connect Wi-Fi and start mapping. Automatic mapping of about 100 m² took roughly 25 minutes, and you can then add must-go and no-go zones in the app.
🌱 Mowing quality and obstacles
The review found neat, even parallel stripes. The 20.3 cm cutting deck covered about 100 m² in roughly an hour, and height is adjustable from 25 to 75 mm in 5 mm steps through the app. Obstacle detection was a highlight: toys, patio furniture, planters and pets were reliably avoided. The weak point is edges, where narrow strips were sometimes left uncut.
⛅ Weather, slopes and the app
The E15 returns to its dock in rain or low light and resumes afterwards, and the review lists IPX6 water protection. It only works in daylight (from about 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset, per the review). Eufy’s page lists slopes of 18 degrees or less in its FAQ, but the top of the page quotes a different figure (under 40%), so check the user guide before relying on either. The reviewer found the app beginner-friendly, with schedules, a live camera view and manual driving, and GPS tracking and PIN protection for theft. An optional 4G connection needs a subscription.
✔️ Pros
- No boundary wire or RTK base station, and very quick setup
- Strong obstacle avoidance in the review
- Adjustable cutting height (25 to 75 mm) and an easy app
- Rain return, IPX6 protection, GPS tracking and PIN protection
- Covers lawns up to 800 m² per Eufy
✖️ Cons
- Edge mowing is a weak point
- Daylight-only operation
- Camera-only navigation can struggle on complex layouts, tricky lighting, or wet, uneven ground
- Slope figures on Eufy’s page are inconsistent
- 4G needs a subscription
💬 Final Verdict
For a mostly flat, tidy lawn where easy setup and low maintenance matter, the E15 is a strong candidate. If your yard is hilly or has many tricky edges, compare it with RTK or LiDAR-based mowers and check the user guide for slope limits.
