If you already ride in an Alpinestars Supertech R10 or R7 helmet, the helmet accessories collection is where you can tune it for sun, track days and group rides. The collection includes replacement visors in several tints and the A-Connect communication system. Here is what the product pages say, including some details that are easy to miss.
🕶️ Visors: tints, mirrors and photochromic
The collection lists Supertech R10/R7 shields in Clear, Light Smoke, Dark, Light Brown and photochromic (a tint that adapts to light), plus Absolute Vision mirror finishes in Silver, Gold, Red, Blue, Purple and Rainbow. They are made of optical-grade polycarbonate, and the Absolute Vision shields cite optical filtering that is meant to enhance contrast and reduce glare in changing light.
⚠️ Read the certification before you buy a visor
The Mirror Silver Gen 2.1-R page states it is “Not ECE R22/06 homologated” and positions it for circuit riding and prolonged strong sunlight. In the collection, only the Light Smoke and Clear Gen 2.1 shields are described as ECE certified. Rules on tinted or non-homologated visors on public roads differ by country, and dark tints are not suitable for riding at night or in low light, so choose a visor that is legal and appropriate for where and when you ride. Also check that the shield fits your exact helmet (R10 or R7), and note that several tints showed as sold out at the time I checked.
🎧 A-Connect: the helmet intercom
Alpinestars calls the A-Connect its most advanced helmet communication system. It combines Mesh 3.0, WAVE cellular and Bluetooth 5.3: mesh range is listed up to 2 km with virtually unlimited riders, and WAVE cellular extends contact to riders further away. Battery is up to 24 hours of Bluetooth intercom talk time, with a USB-C quick charge of about 1.5 hours. It has 40 mm Harman Kardon speakers, a 4-key control unit with voice control, and an IPX5 rating, and works with the Sena Motorcycles App.
Important: the page says it is “designed exclusively for seamless installation in the Alpinestars S-R7 helmet,” so check compatibility before buying it for another helmet.

⚠️ Protective gear reduces the risk of injury but cannot eliminate it. Use a certified visor suitable for the conditions, never ride with a dark tint at night, and follow your local laws and the manufacturer’s instructions.
